Preacetylation of wood filler in composite materials production

Abstract The increasing swelling pressure of wood filler, occurring during the use a composite material, leads to formation internal microcracks, therefore, reducing hygroscopicity filler is an urgent task. This paper considers preacetylation technology in wood-polymer materials production. Wood particles were acetylated by soaking them acetic anhydride, followed heating vacuum drying cabinet at 120°C for 40, 180, and 360 minutes. Polylactide various binder-modified ratios was used as polymer matrix samples. resulting samples examined moisture water absorption. It found that with maximum treatment time minutes absorption 40% content did not exceed those 20% unmodified content, which proves effectiveness acetylation. results research conducted allow expanding scope additive manufacturing products.
